YMCA Dance Classes
are designed to focus on character development, body
alignment, flexibility, strength, balance, grace,
and fun!
|
|
TEACHERS shadow
The focus
is on developing
coordination and motor skills using
songs and games which introduces dance
into their lives while having fun.
CREATIVE DANCE
Tiny dancers develop
social skills while having a great time
learning ballet & tap movements in a
creative way.
CREATIVE DANCE PLUS
Through
repetition of basic movements the
students will be introduced to the world
of ballet and tap dance.
PRE-BALLET / TAP
Young dancers will be
introduced to the basics of ballet, the
difference between left and right,
stretches and across the floor exercises
to help learn and build motor skills.
BALLET/POINTE/LYRICAL
Students will learn the
fundamental
principles of ballet
technique. To improve body posture and
carriage, ballet is the backbone of
dance, the foundation upon which a
dancer, regardless of the style of dance
must embrace. Ballet will introduce the
strict discipline of learning to
articulate specific
terminology verball
and physically.
TAP
For all skill levels of tap dancers.
Learn steps and combinations,
progressing from the basics to more
advanced steps.
JAZZ / HIP HOP
Students will study various styles using
word appropriate music. This class will
allow students to express their emotions
through dance.
IRISH STEP
The most popular exciting dance,
traditional Irish (soft shoe). Join us
for some high energy fun!
BALLROOM
Learn how to dance like the stars! No
partner necessary to take this class. |

DRESS CODE
Remember if you look like a dancer
you feel like a dancer!
Teachers Shadow/Creative
Dance/Pre-Ballet/Tap
Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers,
ballet skirt optional.
Ballet
Black leotard, theatrical pink tights, pink ballet
shoes, ballet skirt optional.
Jazz/Tap
Black leotard, dance pants, tan tights, black jazz
shoes, and black tap shoes.
Hip Hop
T-shirt, jazz pants, or sweat shirt/pants, dance
sneakers.
NO JEANS! NO JEWELRY! (small posts
are fine)
