YOUTH & TEEN STRENGTH TRAINING

Physical Fitness & Strength Training
Ages 10 - 15
Fee: Members

This class meets Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:00 to
7:00 pm to educate participants regarding strength,
endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular
work-outs.
Youth Weight
Training
Ages 13 - 17
Fee: Members $10
Non-Member $40
This
class meets Tuesdays and Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00
pm to in the Fitness Center to familiarize
participants with the equipment and to educate them
regarding strength, endurance, flexibility, and
cardiovascular work-outs. After completing the
class the youth-teen will be eligible to workout
with their parents in the fitness center.

participants must be 16 years old or
accompanied by an adult.
For
liability and safety reasons, babies and
young children are not permitted in the
Aerobics Room during Aerobic classes.
Classes subject to
change and/or cancellation due to lack of
attendance.

All classes are
ongoing -- no breaks except for holidays and by
advance notification. Classes run in monthly
sessions. A new session begins the first
Monday of each month.

BODY PUMP
This 45 to 60 minute class uses barbells and
adjustable weights to tone and condition muscles
while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat-burning.
BOOT CAMP
A high intensity class which implements all the
components of maximum calorie fat burning through a
mixture of interval training routines using core and
cardio conditioning.
GROUND ZERO COMBAT
The ultimate kickboxing class. Learn the proper way
to throw punches and kicks in one powerful packed
class.
MAT PILATES
This low-intensity strength and stretch class is
designed to tone your body and promote flexibility.
Don’t forget your bath-sized towel and mat for
class.
20/20/20
This class is 20 minutes of step; 20 minutes of
weight training; 20 minutes of abdominal work and
stretch.
SENIOR TAI CHI
Combines stress reduction with movement to improve
health,
while
increasing strength and flexibility. Additional
benefits include, decrease pain in joints, decreases
stress, reduction in high blood pressure, increased
sense of wellbeing and improved balance.
STEP AND ABS
Same class as Step Interval with the addition of
abdominal workout
STEP INTERVAL
This high intensity, cardiovascular endurance class
is designed to condition the cardiovascular system
while creating overall fitness. You will burn LOTS
of calories in this class.
YOGA
Increase your flexibility, balance, and muscular
strength with the 5,000 year old practice. This
complete mind and body class incorporates stretch
and strength while learning about the
body-mind-spirit connection. Don’t forget your mat!
ZUMBA
This class is a fusion of Latin and
international music. The dance
is
themed to create a dynamic, exciting and effective
fitness system. Enjoy a mixture of body sculpting
movements with easy to follow dance steps. The
routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training
with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that
tone and sculpt the body.

Fitness Center
Rules:
-
Bring a
towel with you. Paper towel dispensers and
antiseptic spray are available in the
Fitness Center.

Teens 15
years and older are permitted to use both
the cardiovascular and weight training areas
with no supervision after they have been
through a fitness orientation.
-
YMCA
staff has the authority to prohibit anyone
from using the Fitness Center if they feel
there is a danger to themselves or others.
-
For the
protection and safety of all members, proper
exercise attire, especially footwear, must
be worn at all times. Proper footwear
includes walking or athletic shoes with
rubber soles designed for physical
activity.
No open-toed shoes.
-
Please
bring a lock to secure any valuables you
bring onto the premises in the locker rooms
provided.
-
No one
under 15 years old may use the weight
training area unless certified by a YMCA
trainer.
Children
10-15 years old, with parent supervision,
are permitted to use the cardiovascular area
only.
Children under the age of 10 are not
permitted in the Fitness Center. See
Child Watch hours for babysitting
services.
YMCA Members
Fitness Orientation

Y members are encouraged to meet
with a YMCA fitness instructor to be properly
trained on equipment use.

YMCA members may make an
appointment at the front desk. No Charge.

Body Fat Testing:
Find out your body fat percentage with a
certified fitness professional. $5 charge.
PERSONAL TRAINING
Members receive 1 free personal
training session per calendar year (beginning
1/1/08)
Additional Sessions for Members:
1 session - $40; 3 sessions - $90; 5 sessions -
$150; 10 sessions - $300.
Non-Members Fees: 1 session - $50; 3 sessions
- $120; 5 sessions - $200; 10 sessions - $400.
A
personal trainer can help to reach goals and
accelerate results by designing a personalized
program based on your needs. Whether you want to
lose weight, increase strength & flexibility,
improve your golf game, revamp your stale or boring
workout, or just increase overall health and
fitness, a nationally certified YMCA personal
trainer can assist you. All fees must be paid prior
to the start of the program. An assessment will be
performed prior to initial session. (Sessions
are one hour long).
