What Your Dollars Did in the 2008 Strong Kids Campaign

In 2008, the YMCA received more than $135,000 in gifts for our Scholarship Program known as the Strong Kids Campaign. However; the YMCA provided more than $271,000 in financial assistance to individuals and families who otherwise would not be able to participate in YMCA programs and membership. The difference was secured through the United Way and grants. Through the support of the community, the YMCA was able to provide assistance to 3,484 youth, adults, and families as outlined below:

• $121,302 to serve 350 Youth through Before & After School Care, Day Camp and Teens.
• $25,229 to serve 555 Youth to participate in Aquatics, Dance and Sport Programs.
• $15,069 to serve 79 individuals to participate in Physical Fitness Programs.
• $110,594 to serve 2500 Families, Youth, Adults, and Seniors for Facility Memberships.

At the YMCA children are exposed to a variety of fun and rewarding experiences that help them develop valuable skills while gaining confidence and self esteem.
